Iwate is located northern part of the main island of Honshu, in the Tohoku Region. It’s on the Pacific Coast and has a spectacular, rugged shoreline. Hiraizumi temple, gardens, archaeological, the sacred Mount Kinkeisan are registered as a World Heritage. Iwate has one of the best places to see cherry blossom. You can see an 800-year-old cherry tree fully blossom or visit Tenshochi Park, where you see 10,000 cherry trees with 300 Koinobori (carp-shaped traditional windsocks) flown in the air over the river. Iwate is truly a hidden gem of Japan. Two thousand eleven quakes and tsunami struck iwate. It is recovering, and their domestic tourism is bouncing back. They especially welcome international visitors. They love you to discover the beauty of Iwate. Iwate is known for excellent seafood, ramen, and Wanko noodles. The Capitol is Morioka City.
